Dear Lynn Public Schools Families,
We are excited to welcome our students back for another school year! The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities, and we appreciate your partnership as we embark on this journey together.
As the school year begins, please remember that this time can be busy for students, families, and our bus drivers. Routines are being established, and we ask for your patience, especially with new students who may be boarding the bus for the first time.
Here are a few important reminders:
- The first day of school is Wednesday, September 3, 2025. For preschoolers and kindergarten, it is Monday, September 8, 2025. Please ensure that your child is ready and excited for this special day.
- This year, LPS is partnering with multiple vendors to transport our students. To ensure you receive the most accurate and timely support, please contact our Transportation Department directly with any questions rather than reaching out to individual vendors. We’ll be happy to assist you!
- Verification with Bus Drivers: When your child boards the bus, please verify with the driver that their name is on the roster.
- Buses may arrive as early as 10 minutes before or up to 10 minutes after the scheduled time on any given day. Students are advised to be ready at least 10 minutes early. If the bus is delayed by more than 10 minutes, feel free to contact the transportation department for an estimated arrival time.
- Transportation Changes: As we adjust to the new school year, please be aware that our transportation vendors may need to make adjustments to your child’s bus route, including pick-up times and overall bus assignments. These changes are sometimes necessary to ensure that all students are accommodated safely and efficiently.
- Requests submitted in September could be delayed until October 2025. If your child misses school transportation due to a delay in processing your request, you are eligible for reimbursement. We’re happy to assist with that process, but please note that reimbursements may take some time to be processed.
- Families should be aware that we experience very high call volume during the beginning of school and there is a chance you won’t be able to get through to someone right away. Please leave your name, student information you are calling about, and a phone number to call you back.
- During the first few days or weeks of school, additional delays are likely as routes are adjusted and students become more familiar with their schedules. Please note that in the first month, buses may run later than the usual 10-minute window as routes are still being finalized and adjusted. There may also be changes to bus routes in the initial weeks until all necessary adjustments are complete.

Identification Information: We recommend that your child’s backpack contains a card with the following details:
- Child’s first and last name
- School name
- Parent’s first and last name
- Parent’s phone number
We hope for a smooth and successful school year ahead. Should you encounter any issues or have questions, please do not hesitate to call our office at 781-477-7220 Ext. 1814 & 1815. Please feel free to email us at:

Sincerely,
